Mahogany works well with punchy rock music with its ringing sustain, and good growl. The maple neck has bright, clear characteristics, and is paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard which brings softer and more articulated tones for a sonically pleasing pairing.
The Ibanez GRG170DXL is powered by a trio of Infinity R/RS pickups, with humbuckers at the neck and bridge and a single coil in the middle. The Infinity pickups produce crystal clear tones with singing harmonics, resulting in a range of versatile tones for a variety of playing styles.
