DP260 PAF Master Humbucker Neck Pickup Cream. One variation that’s highly sought after by vintage PAF players is a pickup that is quiet, bright, and very dynamic. The PAF Pro® was created when chops-intensive playing was first starting to happen, and high-gain amps and rack systems were becoming popular. A pickup was needed that combined a lot of presence and “cut” with an open-sounding PAF® vibe. The Monterey Pop Festival of 1967 was a watershed event in American music. When it was over, the world had heard and felt the sound of a Strat® in the hands of a master. Single-coils in 1967 were bright and very clean. And, of course, they hummed. We've captured the classic bright and clean sound but totally eliminated the hum with our patented Area™ technology. We've also reduced magnet pull by 40% for improved sustain and clarity. The Area 67™ has the chime of 60s pickups, and the 2 and 4 positions are light, bright and quack-happy. Strat® pickups in the late 1960s used full-strength Alnico 5 magnets. The patented magnetic field of the Area™ models is more efficient and focused than it is on “true” single-coils, which allows us to use Alnico 2 instead. There's much less magnet pull, but no loss of output. This is a major advantage in the neck and middle positions, where sustain and intonation can both suffer if the strings are exposed to strong magnetic fields. In the bridge position, the patented technology of the Area 67™ produces a sound that's very bright but not brittle. We believe the Area 58™ and Area 61™ are a major step forward in the performance of hum-canceling Strat® replacement pickups. The new technology that went into these models has allowed us to make a similar advance with Telecaster® replacement pickups. The Area T™ Neck has the combination of clarity and warmth that Telecaster® players have always sought, and the new technology allows us to include a vintage Tele® cover with no sacrifice in sound quality or power. The contrast between a warm neck pickup tone and a biting bridge pickup sound is a Tele® hallmark, but it's hard to achieve if the neck pickup is muddy. Gojira guitarist and lead vocalist Joe Duplantier favors the tonality and nuances of a vintage PAF®. Joe had specific requirements based on adjustments made in his Silver Cord Recording Studio. First and foremost, he wanted a passive pickup that was vintage-sounding. For Joe, it’s all about the dynamic; he wants people to hear what he’s doing on the strings with his hands and the pick. He feels that’s the part of the chain that adds the spirit, soul, and life to the sound and prevents it from being flat. Most of Joe’s riffs are on the bridge pickup, and he says it needs to sound “killer.” The Fortitude™ Bridge is very precise, very sharp, and Joe can get all sorts of percussive sounds with it. The Fortitude™ Bridge is based on the PAF® 36th Anniversary Bridge with a few modifications. The clarity of a low output humbucker allows it to cut through with different tunings and high gain. Joe wanted the pickup to have a boost at 160Hz of about 1.5db, a touch more low-end, and a notch down around 500/600Hz. The Fortitude™ Bridge features vintage tone with a twist. Joe suggested calling the pickup Fortitude because “it’s simple, it’s honest, it’s straight to the point, and it’s strong.” Recommended for Bridge position for all solid body, hollow, and semi-hollow body guitars. The NEXT PXH64 was engineered to be a powerful medium/longthrow mid/high-frequency cabinet in a coaxial configuration, covering the frequency range from 150 Hz to 19 kHz. To obtain the highest possible on-axis sound pressure levels and clear and intelligible sound reproduction over long distances, the PXH64 mid/high unit is entirely horn-loaded. The coaxial arrangement of the High Frequency CD horn and the Mid Frequency 12" speaker (also horn-loaded) creates a precise coverage pattern of 60°H x 40°V over a frequency range from 400 Hz–17kHz, ensuring equal sound within the coverage area. The HF range from 1.150 kHz upwards is reproduced by a Neodymium 1.4” driver with a 3” voice coil and a Constant Q horn, whilst coverage in the mid-range from 150 Hz to 1.25 kHz is provided by a low power compression 12” driver loaded by a midrange horn. Wider coverage can be achieved using multiple tops, laterally stacked or flown. The PXH64 cabinet must be rotated (90°) to maintain at minimum the comb-filter effects. A Tilt Unit (available as an option) permits the cabinet to be angled in 5° increments up to a maximum of 15°; as a result, the upper cabinet can be aimed directly at the audience area even when the system is ground stacked. Optional Aeroquip tracks enable the cabinet to be flown. Perfectly integrated, the PX system Power Rack is the heart of the system. Composed by a very powerful Powersoft amplifier module, with PFC and SMPS, and a Powersoft DSP, integrated to Armonia, this power rack is capable of driving a wide range of system’s configurations with absolute reliability and ample headroom. The system amplifier is based in a Powersoft amplifier module, that features a fixed switching frequency design of the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) block allowing for maximum performance, high predictability and immunity from intermodulation artefacts; all this with an additional and extensive set of protection mechanisms (power limiters, thermal shutdown, short circuit and overload, clip limiter): there's no quality without reliability! Working at optimal efficiency, little power is wasted and the need for heat dissipation is reduced, resulting in long-term reliability with an astounding power output of 4 x 2000W into 4?. Two PXH64 or PXH95 and four PXL118 can be driven with extreme operational reliability and sound quality.
