Golden-era specifications meet fresh nitrocellulose hues as Fender expands its flagship vintage recreation series.

When Fender introduced the American Vintage II series, it set an ambitious benchmark: moving beyond general "period-correct" builds to create near 1:1 recreations of the exact instruments that shaped modern music history. Built in Corona, California, each model carries a specific year in its designation and captures everything from precise neck profiles to era-accurate pickup voicings.

Now, Fender is turning back to the paint room to breathe new visual life into seven of its most iconic electric guitars and basses, expanding options across the '60s and '70s eras.

75 Years of Telecaster Twang

With 2026 marking the 75th Anniversary of the Telecaster, Fender has given serious attention to T-style models. Headlining the group is the 1963 Telecaster, now available in classic Vintage Blonde paired with a dark round-lam rosewood fingerboard.

For players seeking humbucking power, the 1972 Telecaster Thinline makes a bold statement in Candy Apple Red, equipped with authentic CuNiFe Wide Range humbuckers. Additionally, the 1975 Telecaster Deluxe receives the Vintage Blonde treatment, while the dual-pickup 1977 Tele Custom expands into a classic 3-Color Sunburst.

Stratocasters & Classic Basses

Stratocaster fans are equally spoiled. The standout model is the 1961 Stratocaster in Surf Green—featuring a slab rosewood fretboard with a 7.25” radius, clay dot inlays, aged white pickup covers, and a cold-rolled steel tremolo block.

Moving into the CBS era, the 1973 Stratocaster arrives in crisp Olympic White, complete with era-defining large headstock appointments and vintage-voiced Pure Vintage '73 single-coils.

Bass players haven't been overlooked either: the 1966 Jazz Bass gets a spectacular makeover in Lake Placid Blue, featuring a matching painted headstock, elegant white neck binding, 'U'-shape neck profile, and a classic four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard.
